Upon learning the different values, there’s one that stands out in particular: transparency.
Transparency is, perhaps, the most important value. It provides the basis for the other values. It’s also important to distinguish the difference between honesty and transparency. Being honest means telling the truth when asked, but being transparent means revealing every detail before being asked.
Being transparent as a person or an organization is also a humbling value. It requires an organization to put others before itself and to serve the public. Because shouldn’t an organization be proud of the way it conducts itself in order to be fully transparent?
